AACRC Committed To Finding Peace

Conflict Resolution Month

Conflict Resolution Month is upon us. It is a time for members of our community to promote and celebrate peaceful conflict resolution practices. Since 2005, when the Association for Conflict Resolution first established Conflict Resolution Day, Marylanders have marked the day in a variety of ways, including:

  • Promoting awareness of mediation, arbitration, conciliation and other creative peaceful means of resolving conflict;
  • Promoting the use of conflict resolution in schools, families, businesses, communities, governments, and the legal system;
  • Recognizing the significant contributions of (peaceful) conflict resolvers; and
  • Creating national synergy by having celebrations happening across the country and around the world on Conflict Resolution Day this October 17th.

Some of the opportunities we offer for participation:

  • This month the Maryland Judiciary’s annual Bookmark Art Contest officially starts with all entries due by October 17.
  • Attendance Mediation
  • In-Service Training (Key Bridge)
  • Large Group Facilitation
  • Marital Separation
  • Run-for-Reentry (CMM)
  • Volunteer Interest Meeting
  • Volunteer Information Session
  • Workplace Mediation
  • 26th Annual Fundraiser
